It integrates the most important processes involved in early fish life: movement, growth, mortality and recruitment. The tool uses as input time series of velocity, temperature and salinity fields archived from ocean models ROMS, MARS, NEMO or SYMPHONIE (files or OpenDAP).
The tool offers two modes of operation. The first provides a user-friendly graphical interface for configuring and running the simulation, and visualizing the transport of virtual eggs and larvae, by creating animated GIFs or exporting trajectories in KMZ (Google Earth) format. The second is a batch mode that allows you to run a series of simulations. Both modes produce NetCDF output files that store information on the simulated dynamics of individuals (time, longitude, latitude, depth, length, etc.).
